January of 2024 marked the 8 year anniversary for Beija. 8 years on from the very first sale that we made to a customer who was not a friend or family member.
Since that very day 8 years ago, we have had the privilege of serving over 25,000 customers.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us by making a purchase. Each and every order has played a crucial role in keeping alive our dream of providing women with beautiful underwear that ultimately only ever intended to simply make you feel great when you put it on.
We worked tirelessly to challenge the pre-existing expectations that society puts on women of how you “should” look or feel in underwear.
When we embarked on this journey to create Beija, our intention was to bring the very best to the brand, both individually and as sisters.
Abbie has shown herself to be a world-class lingerie designer. She has a deep understanding of the intricacies and essential elements that contribute to a well fitting bra - in any cup size. Most importantly, she cares for the body & soul beneath the bra and her designs have repeatedly enriched and illuminated the vibrant characters of those who wear them.
Mazie has dedicated herself to fostering a strong sense of pride among every woman who has chosen to flourish within our community. This has been achieved through meaningful engagement, ensuring the visual representation of our brand retains its authenticity and pushing boundaries. She pushed and advanced the operations of Beija, enabling us to always overcome challenges and opportunities that initially seemed impossible.
With only a team of 5, we’ve marched forward like a team of 50. We shot for the stars, relentlessly pursued a product that initially we could only dream of, and sought to change the lingerie landscape in the way we saw necessary. However, in the past two years, we must acknowledge that we have not been able to fully live up to these ideals. Our focus has had to shift towards securing urgent funding in order to sustain the brand.
Unfortunately, we currently do not have the resources to purchase new stock, something we know you have been eagerly anticipating, and for that, we sincerely apologise. This pursuit of funding, which is not within our area of expertise, has been a challenging and disappointing journey. It has forced us to operate outside of our core values and strengths. The fear, stress and exhaustion has affected us and those around us deeply. We’re grateful that the world we live in now allows us to be this open.
We have come to the realisation that in order to rebuild the brand, we must first rebuild ourselves. We have granted ourselves permission for this much-needed break so that we can return stronger and more resilient.
Please note that no new products will be added to our website for the foreseeable future, and the prices will remain as they are.
Once again, we want to express our deepest gratitude to all of you. We would like to extend a special thank you to Fae - the OG, who without, Beija would not be so beautiful and impactful as it is. Also, Julian, Laurence, Megan, Ivan, Charlotte, Shantelle, Jo, Ellie, Rory, Sophie, Jonathan, Denise, Suzie, James, Freja, Ben and the team at Aura Lingerie. Your support and positive impact on us and Beija have been invaluable. We’d also like to thank our friends and family that have listened and supported us through such a wild ride over these last few years. We wouldn’t be standing here today without you behind us.
